MOU for providing MRI machine in Kangra

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) signed an MoU with Honorable Governor, Himachal Pradesh, through Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Kangra, Himachal Pradesh for providing a 1.5 Tesla MRI machine in Kangra on 14th December, 2021 under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The MoU was signed in presence of Shri Vipin Singh Parmar, Honorable Speaker Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Shri Rajiv Saizal, Honorable Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Himachal Pradesh, Shri Rajinder Garg, Honorable Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Himachal Pradesh, Shri Shanta Kumar, former Honorable Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh, Shri V. K. Singh, Director (Personnel) POWERGRID, Shri T. C. Sarmah, Executive Director (CSR), POWERGRID, Shri Kailash Rathore, Executive Director, Northern Region-II, POWERGRID and other senior officials from Government of Himachal Pradesh and POWERGRID.

The MoU was signed by Shri Dev Kumar, Senior General Manager (Himachal Pradesh) on behalf of POWERGRID and Dr. Gurdarshan Gupta, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Kangra on behalf of Honorable Governor, Himachal Pradesh.

As a responsible Corporate Citizen, POWERGRID has been extending support to various infrastructure activities of Himachal Pradesh through its CSR efforts. Earlier a truck mounted sewer jetting machine, litter picking machine, truck mounted sweeping machine with vacuum cleaner and truck mounted compactor were handed over to Municipal Corporation, Shimla costing ₹1.98 crore. Further, one SPV mounted vacuum assisted road sweeper, two sewer cleaning jetting machines costing ₹1.31 crore had been handed over to Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Manali, District Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. Apart from this, 3250 solar LED street lights and 13000 twin bins dustbins costing ₹11.49 crore, have been supplied and installed in various parts of Himachal Pradesh.

Besides, POWERGRID had also undertaken efforts for skill development for local youth in district Lahaul and Spiti, through infrastructure additions & capacity building in the field of mountaineering & allied activities worth ₹32 lacs. As part of CSR efforts, four Medical Mobile units costing ₹1.06 crore to Bilaspur District Authorities, two ambulances in IGMC Shimla and District Hospital, Chamba, costing ₹19 lacs have also been provided in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
