With an impressive 1,85,102ckm transmission lines, POWERGRID has an extensive transmission grid spread across the length and breadth of the country.  Also, the power transmission network, in line with renewable capacity addition target of 500GW by 2030, shall be seeing an exponential growth in coming years.

Further, in-line with India’s development goal of Viksit Bharat 2047, several Infrastructure projects of NHAI, Airports, India Railways, Defence, Mines, Irrigation departments, State Deaprtments etc. are going in various parts of the country, which may cross the transmission lines of POWERGRID in their route alignment. As a result, the existing transmission lines need to be diverted.

This diversion of transmission lines being undertaken by POWERGRID through two modes:

  1. Diversion of transmission line by the Infrastructure Project Developer under the supervision of POWERGRID @ 2.5% of the project cost. Consultancy fees shall be payable by the Project Developer.
  2. Diversion of transmission line by the Owner of the transmission line, i.e., POWERGRID @ 15% consultancy fees, payable by the Project Developer.
